Hooker Keith Wood was first selected
for the British & Irish Lions in
1997. With an already firmly
established reputation as a captain
and match winner in Ireland his
world standing was enhanced with two
brilliant performances for the Lions
as they pulled off a memorable Test
series victory over the Springboks.
He is the son of former Ireland and
Lions No.2 Gordon Wood, who toured
with the Lions to Australasia and
Canada in 1959. Keith has more than
matched his father and was selected
for his second Lions tour to
Australia in 2001.
